Ultramarinos — Crónicas de un Caribe Profundo
Many years ago, deep in the Caribbean, there was a society of aquatic people built around the spot where a whale carcass met a sunken galleon laden with gold and treasure.
Life in this city was peaceful until one day, divers descended to recover the 'lost' treasures, claiming them as their own and wanting to take them back to their land. Because the galleon's contents were so fundamental to the underwater city, a conflict erupted.
Our story follows two defenders of the city: Captain Ceycén and her superior and mentor, Admiral Barú, who seek to expel these invaders from their home. The invaders descended with harpoons and fishing nets to restrict the freedom and movement of the city's inhabitants.
Ceycén and Barú will fight against the divers, and also against each other regarding their different approaches to overcoming this challenge. Ceycén is more aggressive and reckless, while Barú is more strategic and cautious. They eventually resolve their differences, agreeing that supporting each other is paramount, and thus expel the aggressors from their home.

Captain Ceycén's explosive nature was expressed through sharp, triangular shape language and long, sweeping lines.
Admiral Barú's strength and dangerous military factor was expressed through the shapes of his clothing and fins, with his personal nature shown by his own blocky forms.
It took me a while to decide on Ceycén's anatomy, whether I wanted her to be a ray, a crab, a pistol shrimp...
...Barú, by contrast, was easier –– a great white shark, apex predator of the Caribbean.
I learned a lot with this one! Different softwares, different processes, and really trying to use what I learned in class.
Merging the architecture of Havana with that of other dense cities and that of basalt formations.
Two street lights, one of Ceycén's shields, Barú's anchor, and an agricultural harvest tool.
More inspiration from basalt architecture and marine anatomy, especially for Barú and Ceycén's weapons.
Admiral Barú is sturdy and fights with pure strength, whereas Captain Ceycén is sneakier, waiting for the right moment to strike.
